About Us

Shallow Lake Strength & Conditioning (SLSC) is owned and operated by CrossFit coaches Lynn Robinson and Chris Murray. As lifelong fitness enthusiasts, Lynn and Chris are passionate about their sport, which led them to pursue personal and group training full time in 2015 with the launch of SLSC in their basement gym. With a loyal following and growing demand for CrossFit in the area, they have since outgrown their basement and moved to a brand new 5,500 sq. ft. facility next to the Shallow Lake Community Centre which features a child care room, Health Team and equipment shop. SLSC also received CrossFit designation in 2018 and became one of two official CrossFit gyms in Grey and Bruce county.

I joined SLSC and took advantage of the Masters Class, personal training and nutrition coaching. In four weeks I have lost 10lbs, gained 1lb of muscle and lost 3% body fat. A great experience!


A year ago I was feeling pretty frustrated with my health. One of the amazing coaches at Shallow Lake Strength & Conditioning encouraged me to sign up for my first CrossFit competition as motivation. So I signed up, but I knew I had to lose some weight to be able to compete. I decided to sign up with Coach JVB to help me with nutrition. I had no idea that I was going to accomplish so much in a year. I competed in several CF competitions and lost over 25 lbs.
And I'm not done yet...I've set more goals I plan on crushing this year!


SLS&C is the best because the people are the best. It's my gym family and I spend four days a week with them because we support and motivate each other to reach our goals.


Personal training with Chris has been fantastic. He's professional, knowledgable and builds workouts around my comfort level while still pushing me to do things I never thought I could. It's amazing how quickly I hit my initial goals – forget loosing ten pounds, you'll feel like a champion!
